Are you overwhelmed by motherhood and barely keeping your head above water? Are you confused and frustrated by how all the other moms make it look so easy. You can figure out how to manage the chaos in your mind, your home, or your family. I get your mama, parenting with ADHD is hard. Here is your permission slip to let go of the Pinterest worthy visions of organization and structure fit for everyone else. Let's do life like our brains do life creatively, lovingly, and with all our might. When we embrace who we are and how our brains work, we can figure out how to live our lives successfully, and in turn, lead our families well, at the end of the day, we just want to be good moms. but spoiler alert, you are already a great mom. ADHD does not mean you're doomed to be a hot mess. Mama, you can rewrite your story from shame spiral to success story. And I'll be right here beside you to cheer you on. Welcome to motherhood in ADHD.

Hey there successful mama, it's your friend Patricia Sung. What if there was a way to put together your plan for the week so that you actually wanted to do the planning, like you wanted to show up and figure it out? Because now your day is smooth? It's easy, it's calm, it flows. You're not surprised by that field trip or that dentist appointment. You have everything you need. When you leave the house, you got a flexible plan and you're ready to tackle the day. What if you had support to make the plan so that you actually follow through with it and feel good about yourself again, I have been teaching my ADHD friendly planning strategies for over two years to over 150 moms. And I've used it myself for the past five years before that I taught middle school. So I was teaching 12 year olds how to plan and I have ADHD myself. So I understand how hard it is to figure out what steps make sense. The way that I plan now as a mom, as a business owner is so different than how I plan before I had kids. And so different than how I plan when I was just learning about my ADHD. I didn't know what I didn't know about ADHD. So I was trying to do things like everybody else. And it didn't work. I just feel bad about myself because it didn't work. But my system now works.

This week, I shared a whole series that will help you set up your week well whether or not you join my meetups, like you will know how to make the plan in an ADHD friendly way how to set goals with your ADHD in mind, we're specifically talking about how to plan your week because I want you to feel less stress every day. Because when you have a plan for your week, you can accomplish the tasks that you need to get done. You know, like when you're going to work on your next business idea? Or when are you gonna do that fun craft with your kids? It's been sitting on the counter for three months, you know the answer to the dreaded question, Mom, what's for dinner, you are present in the conversation with your kids after school or a dinner because you aren't a ball of stress that you can take care of you when you have a plan. And when you have this you feel confident you feel capable, more energetic, hopeful, relieved, like you can actually breathe. And that is what today's episode is about is are you ready to feel better?
Patricia Sung 3:16
When I think back to when I first had my son, I had awful postpartum anxiety and my hormones were everywhere. I wasn't sleeping, I was just a hot mess. And it was this Whack a Mole lifestyle of like just take care of whatever pops up. Because if I didn't take care of it right, then I'd forget. And then I would be ashamed. And I would panic and run down the negativity spiral. And I truly forgot who and what really mattered. I was spending so much time beating myself up for the mistakes that I was making. The problem is you don't believe in yourself anymore after you've had failure after failure. And now that I'm in a different place, I want to share that I see the moms in my community in a different place. Like they trust themselves more. They understand how their brains work better. They know why they do the things they do and how to work with it instead of against it. They know how to make an ADHD friendly plan and they know it works. It starts by setting your life up in an ADHD friendly way. Instead of trying to fit some other mold. It starts with baby steps. It starts with making a plan. So your day doesn't feel chaotic.
Patricia Sung 4:23
Now, I already meet every Wednesday with the moms in my community. And when I was telling them, actually this morning about how things are going to be different in December I was really worried because like I'm changing something that's really good. And that's really scary to change what's already really good. And my sweet Lamas just like came up under me and support them they're like in the chat as we're all talking in zoom they're like one after another while moms like I did not think it could get any better and other moms like oh my god I love all these changes and other moms like me to sign me up and other mom sounds great Patricia and others Want to take my money? Another one I'm so excited. This sounds fantastic with like handbrakes emojis another one that's a wonderful ideas you are such a blessing. And another one like I so need these planning sessions, this is going to be awesome.
Patricia Sung 5:13
What the moms know, especially after taking either daily planning or time into mastery is like, they know what to do you know what to do, but how do I actually get the plan done, life gets crazy, you know, it matters to have a plan. Because you know, on the days or weeks that you actually did plan, your life is so much later, like you need help making it happen. That's what this is about actually making it happen. Now, I am going to be running a VIP special. At the end of this episode, I'm gonna tell you about it and VIP stands for very impulsive person, because usually we're penalized for our impulsivity. In this case, I want you to get a reward out of it. Like I want to see thank you for supporting me hanging out to the end I'm gonna tell you about in just a sec.
Patricia Sung 5:54
Okay, so this new meetup, it doesn't matter where you are, it is going to help you like whether you're a stay at home mom with littles, you can see the floor, your car, your house, your homeschooling, and your kids are always around so you don't feel you can get anything done. You're working outside of the home, you're like I never have time to plan. You are an entrepreneur, mom who's like, I'm just trying to get my business off the ground, but also trying to be a present parent like, this is the place to get your ish together, introducing successful mama meetups, we're going to meet every week to plan your week. For the first five minutes, I'm going to give you a very clear plan of what to think about to plan your upcoming week. Things like what's going to be for dinner, what events are coming up, what do you need to prep, and then you're gonna have like 20-25 minutes to plan. So we're using body doubling here to get things done. And one of them I'm just like, so it's just like ADHD moms study hall. Yes, that's exactly what it is. You have your community there of like a set time of I'm going to make this happen and plan.
Patricia Sung 6:53
Now at the halfway point of the meeting, you can continue to plan if you're on a roll, like run with it, stick with it, go for it. But there's also option two for the second half. Because you are telling me that you need community like you need mom friends that get you I think this is one of the things that really stood out to me after doing the retreat last month was like, You all need community, I need community. So I'm taking successful mama meetups and putting this twist on both productivity and community like I want you to know that you don't have to earn your fun, we can intertwine them in the same event so that you want to show up every week because it's fun. The second half of the meeting is community time. It's like open social hour or half hour. And so I'll share some prompts to get you started. Or you can take the conversation wherever you want. I want you to build relationships, I want you to be able to ask other moms like, hey, what works for you. Like if you're struggling with an uncooperative toddler or a teen who won't wake up for class or you need some homeschooling tips, or you got mount laundry and you don't know what to do, I want you to be able to ask the community that you're in and get brilliant ideas from all of these women.
Patricia Sung 7:58
I want you to make friends to have someone to text when you're down. Like that kind of friendship and support is priceless. I want you to build your community in these meetings, but also outside of the meetings so that you have people to rely on. And there's also going to be some bonus planning, where throughout the month, you're going to have your plan on what to do for your week. But I'm also going to give you an alternate plan for anytime there's something unusual coming up like once a month we'll do planning for the upcoming month. So like in December, we'll look ahead and be like okay, what's coming in January, like after the hoopla of the holidays? What's coming up, then what do you need to get ready for what you need to plan what's happening then. So bringing that not now into the now and overcoming that time blindness prep for the holiday seasons or transition seasons, when we're moving from school to summer or summer to school, these transitional seasons, we want to create that pattern of overcoming our time blindness and building in looking ahead, because we don't want to be surprised by what's coming. That just lowers our self esteem. Every time we forget something every time. Something doesn't go well. That's hard on our hearts. It's hard on our self esteem and I want to get us out of that cycle. I want you to be at these meetings, make friends get stuff done, and actually enjoyed doing it.
Patricia Sung 9:15
So mark your calendar, our very first meeting is December 7, at 11:30am Central that is 930 Pacific Time 1030 mountain, or 1230. Eastern, we're going to meet every week on Wednesdays at the same time. I know some moms are going to be like wait, but that time doesn't work for me. If that is you, I want you to go to the website that I'm gonna give you in a couple seconds here and put yourself on the waitlist for the secondary time. Right now. I'm going to be doing it this time. And when I have enough moms to say there's another group big enough that I can make another group happen, we're going to make it happen. So if you want evening time for the US if your work schedule doesn't give you the flexibility to meet in the middle of the day, or if you're on the other side of the world for me you're in Asia or Australia and a An Evening time here would be the daytime for you go put your name on that waitlist, so that I will know when there's enough moms who want to be in there and I can make that happen. Because I really want you to be there in person. Yes, there is a replay for when you can't make it. You know, like, if someone vomits, that's mom life, right, you'll have a replay to go back and do it. But that live community aspect is so valuable, like I want you to be there. Successful mama meetups are only $27 a month. That's what you spend in one coffee around a week. And I know that these meetups will bring so much more joy, happiness, community support than your coffee as much as so many people with ADHD love coffee, this is better. And I say that wholeheartedly. This matters for a couple bucks a week. This matters so much, you have the option to do month to month you can also sign up for an annual plan. And that means you get one month free.
Patricia Sung 10:52

You deserve to like your life, you deserve to wake up and be happy or like even just neutral. It's a rough day about the day like I want you to show up for yourself and do something different than you've been doing.
