The Hard Thing Rule:

  1. Everyone in the family has to engage in an activity that requires deliberate practice

  2. Finish what you start: you can’t quit until the course ends, season is over or some type of obvious ending happens

  3. You get to pick what you want to do

  4. Once in high school the kids must commit for at least 2 years
